Hello All!

I see on the wiki that I can run letsencrypt for ssl certs. I get that on my domain host. I downloaded the files. Your SSL certificate and supporting files are ready for download. The bundle contains the certificate for your domain, your public key, your private key, and the intermediate certificate.

Can I inject these somewhere on /sbbs? The only place I see .pem files on the server is I believe in /etc/ssl/certs?

I think you want to look into http://wiki.synchro.net/module:certtool

We use cryptlib for TLS/SSL, and it has its own cert/key storage, so while I think you can import an externally-generated cert, it doesn't use the pem file directly.

I havent quite got it working yet but will keep after it, but thankyou for your very helpful and detailed explanation it is appreciated. I am setting up this new version, as to learn from previous mistakes, I have a minimal debian setup ie no gui/desktop and when scfg exits I see this "SDL Video Initialization Failed" this isnt a problem right? It just because I do not have a desktop ui? Or am I wrong?

I'm running sbbs for Windows, but there's a letsyncrypt.js timed event
that runs that'll order and install the cert into Synchronet. If you're
running another web server in Linux, that would complicate things somewhat.
